What is the program scope?
The DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme will have this scope:
- Target group: All MSMEs based in Nigeria are the main target of this programme.
- Location of training: There are two locations for physical training. They are Abuja (for the micro-enterprises) and Lagos (for SMEs).
- Implementation: DBN spearheads this training programme. It will work in partnership with several other bodies to ensure that MSME owners will receive adequate training. Some of these bodies include Enterprise Development Center (EDC), Google, Wider Perspective Limited (WPL), and Pan Atlantic University.

- Each shortlisted MSME will receive a DBN Entrepreneurship Training Certificate at the end of the training period.
2021 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme Structure
By now, you must be wondering what the programme structure for this training is like. This training will help to equip Nigerian entrepreneurs to become better. After the training, the entrepreneurs should have acquired adequate skills and knowledge that will make them thrive.
The knowledge that they gain will help to improve their competitive advantage in their different sectors. This programme will be split into two stages. The DBN will implement both stages over three months. Below is the process flow of the 2021 DBN Entrepreneurship Training Programme:
- 1,000 pre-selected entrepreneurs will go through a self-paced digital marketing course. This stage will be available to the entrepreneurs for a month between August 16 and September 10.
- The first two-hundred-and-fifty MSMEs to complete the first stage of the training will receive an invitation to the next stage. Google Nigeria will facilitate these training sessions. After this stage, the top 200 performers will be chosen for physical training sessions in Abuja and Lagos.
- The faculty will design a new curriculum to suit the needs of the top 200 performers on a needs-based analysis.
- Shortlisted MSMEs will receive invitations to attend a pitching session. This will be a window for them to access funding.
- All the successful MSMEs that complete the training process will receive a DBN Entrepreneurship Certificate.
Eligibility Criteria
There are certain criteria that your business must meet to be eligible for this training programme. Below are the eligibility criteria for the training programme:
- The business owner should be 18 years old or above.
- They should be a citizen of Nigeria or a legal resident in the country.
- The MSME must be based in Nigeria and registered with CAC.
- It must be a profit-based business.
- All applicants should be available for the training sessions.
