African Fintechs Encouraged To Apply To Catapult: Inclusion Africa 2021
African fintech startups have until the 30th of April to send in their applications for the Catapult: Inclusion Africa 2021 Fintech Bootcamp that will take place digitally from 19 – 28 May this year.
Catapult: Inclusion Africa 2021
Developed by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs’ Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs with key strategic partners, the programme aims to help selected fintech startups grow, develop, network, and secure funding.
Each of the previous programmes has been hosted in Luxembourg but due to the global pandemic, the programme has moved to be hosted virtually.
As the third edition of the programme, it is focused on creating and supporting financial services that can provide practical and ground-breaking solutions to global pressing issues. The programme is funded by Luxembourg’s Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs.
Applications
Only 15 applicants will be selected to take part in the intensive bootcamp. The bootcamp will take place over one week and applications can be completed online.
The bootcamp will provide training in investment readiness, one-on-one mentorship along with venture development and growth tools.
Following the first programme, a three-day Catapult: Inclusion Africa programme will take place in December 2021 at the Luxembourg Pavilion of the World Expo in Dubai, with the winner of the May 2021 edition.
Franz Fayot, Minister of the Economy and Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs explains what the three-day programme offers.
“The programme builds upon the success of Catapult: Inclusion Africa, a program enabling African start-ups to liaise with Luxembourg players in order to align common sustainability goals and promote financial inclusion.”
